National September 11 Memorial
The National September 11 Memorial is located in New York City at the site of the former World Trade Center. It honors the nearly 3,000 victims of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, and the earlier bombing in 1993. The memorial features two large reflecting pools set within the footprints of the original Twin Towers, surrounded by a grove of trees.
The design of the memorial was created by architect Michael Arad and landscape architect Peter Walker. It includes the names of all the victims inscribed on bronze panels around the pools, providing a place for reflection and remembrance for visitors from around the world.
