National Sanctuaries
National Sanctuaries are protected areas designated by governments to conserve natural resources, wildlife, and cultural heritage. These areas often provide safe habitats for endangered species and promote biodiversity. They can include marine environments, wetlands, forests, and other ecosystems that are vital for ecological balance.
In the United States, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) manages several marine sanctuaries to protect ocean habitats. Similarly, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service oversees various wildlife refuges. These sanctuaries not only preserve nature but also offer opportunities for research, education, and recreation for the public.
