National Rural Livelihood Mission
The National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) is an initiative by the Government of India aimed at reducing poverty in rural areas. Launched in 2011, it focuses on promoting self-employment and organization of rural poor into self-help groups (SHGs). The mission provides skill development, financial inclusion, and access to various resources to enhance livelihoods.
NRLM emphasizes sustainable livelihoods by empowering marginalized communities, especially women. It aims to create a strong network of SHGs, enabling members to access credit, training, and markets. By fostering entrepreneurship and improving income-generating activities, NRLM seeks to uplift rural households and improve their quality of life.
