National Police of Ukraine
The National Police of Ukraine is the primary law enforcement agency in Ukraine, responsible for maintaining public order and ensuring the safety of citizens. Established in 2015, it replaced the previous militia system and aims to enhance transparency and accountability in policing. The agency operates under the Ministry of Internal Affairs and is tasked with crime prevention, investigation, and community engagement.
The National Police is organized into various departments, including criminal investigation, patrol, and special operations. Officers are trained to handle a range of situations, from traffic control to serious crimes. The agency also collaborates with international law enforcement bodies to address cross-border crime and improve policing standards.
