National Library of Greece
The National Library of Greece is located in Athens and serves as the country's primary library. Established in 1832, it aims to collect, preserve, and promote the cultural heritage of Greece. The library houses a vast collection of books, manuscripts, and historical documents, making it a vital resource for researchers and the public.
In 2016, the library moved to a new building designed by the renowned architect Renzo Piano, located in the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center. This modern facility offers improved access to its collections and includes reading rooms, exhibition spaces, and a beautiful park, enhancing the cultural landscape of Athens.
