National Health Service Corps
The National Health Service Corps (NHSC) is a program in the United States that aims to improve healthcare access in underserved areas. It provides financial support to healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and mental health providers, in exchange for their commitment to work in communities with limited medical resources.
Participants in the NHSC can receive loan repayment or scholarships to help cover their education costs. In return, they must serve in designated Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs) for a specified period, helping to ensure that essential healthcare services are available to those in need.
