National Film Preservation Foundation
The National Film Preservation Foundation (NFPF) is a nonprofit organization established in 1996 to help preserve and protect America's film heritage. It was created by the U.S. Congress to support the preservation of films that are culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant. The NFPF provides grants to film archives and other institutions to restore and conserve films that might otherwise be lost.
In addition to funding preservation projects, the NFPF also promotes public access to preserved films through educational programs and screenings. The organization collaborates with various partners, including film archives, museums, and educational institutions, to ensure that important films are available for future generations to enjoy and study.
