National Elk Refuge
The National Elk Refuge is a protected area located in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, established in 1912 to provide a habitat for the largest elk herd in the United States. Spanning over 25,000 acres, the refuge offers a sanctuary for various wildlife species, including bison, deer, and numerous bird species.
Visitors can enjoy activities such as wildlife viewing, photography, and guided tours, especially during the winter months when elk migrate to the refuge. The area is also home to the historic National Elk Refuge Visitor Center, which provides educational resources about the ecosystem and conservation efforts.
