National Blue Ribbon Schools
The National Blue Ribbon Schools program is an initiative by the U.S. Department of Education that recognizes outstanding public and private schools. Established in 1982, it honors schools that demonstrate high academic performance or significant improvements in student achievement, particularly among disadvantaged students.
Schools are selected based on their overall academic excellence or their progress in closing achievement gaps. Each year, a limited number of schools receive this prestigious award, which serves as a symbol of quality education and encourages other schools to strive for excellence in teaching and learning.
