National Arbor Day
National Arbor Day is a holiday dedicated to planting and caring for trees. It is celebrated in the United States on the last Friday in April, although some states may observe it on different dates based on their climate. The day encourages individuals and communities to plant trees, which provide numerous environmental benefits, such as improving air quality and providing habitats for wildlife.
The first Arbor Day was celebrated in Nebraska in 1872, initiated by J. Sterling Morton, a journalist and tree enthusiast. Since then, it has grown into a nationwide event, with many schools and organizations participating in tree-planting activities to promote awareness about the importance of trees in our ecosystems.
