She gained recognition for her debut novel, Queen Sugar, which delves into the complexities of African American life in the South. The novel was later adapted into a television series produced by Ava DuVernay. In addition to her fiction work, Baszile has contributed essays and articles to various publications, showcasing her insights on race, gender, and the writing process.
