Nargothrond
Nargothrond is a fictional underground city in J.R.R. Tolkien's legendarium, primarily featured in "The Silmarillion." It was founded by the Elven king Finrod Felagund along the banks of the river Narog. The city is known for its beautiful architecture and intricate tunnels, reflecting the craftsmanship of the Noldor Elves.
Nargothrond plays a significant role in the history of Middle-earth, particularly during the First Age. It served as a refuge for Elves and was strategically important in the struggle against the dark lord Morgoth. Ultimately, Nargothrond fell to Glaurung, the dragon, marking a tragic end for its inhabitants.
