Napoleon II
Napoleon II, also known as the Duke of Reichstadt, was the only legitimate son of Napoleon Bonaparte and his second wife, Marie Louise of Austria. Born on March 20, 1811, in Paris, he was given the title of Emperor of the French at birth, but he never ruled. After his father's abdication in 1814, he was taken to Austria, where he lived under the care of his mother and was largely kept away from political life.
Despite his royal lineage, Napoleon II struggled with his identity and the legacy of his father. He was raised in the Austrian court and died young at the age of 21 on July 22, 1832, from tuberculosis. His life was marked by the shadow of Napoleon Bonaparte's ambitions and the political turmoil of the time.
