Nandi People
The Nandi People are an ethnic group primarily located in the Nandi County of Kenya. They are part of the larger Kalenjin community and are known for their rich cultural heritage, including traditional music, dance, and ceremonies. The Nandi are primarily agriculturalists and pastoralists, relying on farming and cattle herding for their livelihood.
Historically, the Nandi People played a significant role in resisting colonial rule in Kenya during the early 20th century. Their leader, Koitalel arap Samoei, became a symbol of resistance against British colonialism. Today, the Nandi continue to celebrate their traditions while also engaging in modern economic activities.
