Namdaemun Gate
Namdaemun Gate, also known as Sungnyemun, is a historic landmark located in Seoul, South Korea. Built in the 14th century during the Joseon Dynasty, it served as the main southern gate of the city, providing access to the capital. The gate is notable for its unique architectural style, featuring a wooden structure atop a stone base.
In 2008, Namdaemun Gate was severely damaged by a fire but was restored and reopened to the public in 2013. Today, it stands as a symbol of Korean heritage and is a popular tourist attraction, reflecting the rich history of Seoul.
