The Naked Mole-Rat is a small, hairless rodent native to the arid regions of East Africa. It is known for its unique appearance, with wrinkled skin and large front teeth that protrude outward. These animals live in underground colonies, where they dig extensive tunnel systems and have a social structure similar to that of honeybees. Naked mole-rats are remarkable for their resistance to cancer and their ability to survive in low-oxygen environments. They are also one of the few eusocial mammals, meaning they live in cooperative groups with a single breeding female, known as the queen, and non-breeding workers that assist in caring for the young and maintaining the colony.
