NYSE Euronext
NYSE Euronext was a major stock exchange that operated in Europe and the United States. It was formed in 2007 through the merger of the New York Stock Exchange and Euronext, which included exchanges in countries like France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Portugal. This merger created one of the largest stock exchanges in the world, facilitating the trading of various financial instruments.
In 2013, NYSE Euronext was acquired by Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), a global operator of financial markets. Following the acquisition, the brand was gradually phased out, and the exchanges continued to operate under the NYSE name, focusing on enhancing trading technology and market access for investors.
