NOLS
The National Outdoor Leadership School, or NOLS, is a nonprofit organization that offers outdoor education and leadership training. Founded in 1965, it focuses on teaching skills for wilderness travel, environmental stewardship, and personal development. Programs are available for various age groups and skill levels, ranging from backpacking and mountaineering to sea kayaking and rock climbing.
NOLS emphasizes hands-on learning in natural settings, allowing students to gain practical experience while developing leadership abilities. Participants learn essential skills such as navigation, risk management, and teamwork, preparing them for both outdoor adventures and everyday challenges in life.
