NGC_6883
NGC 6883 is an open star cluster located in the constellation of Scorpius. It was discovered by the astronomer John Herschel in 1834. The cluster is approximately 4,500 light-years away from Earth and contains several bright stars that are relatively young, with ages estimated around 10 million years.
The cluster is notable for its rich concentration of stars and is often studied for insights into stellar formation and evolution. NGC 6883 is also a part of the larger Scorpius-Centaurus Association, which is one of the nearest regions of massive star formation to our solar system.
