NGC_2422
NGC 2422 is an open star cluster located in the constellation of Monoceros, which is also known as the Unicorn. It is approximately 4,000 light-years away from Earth and is estimated to be around 100 million years old. The cluster contains several bright stars that are easily visible through small telescopes.
Discovered by John Herschel in 1834, NGC 2422 is notable for its relatively loose structure and the presence of young, hot stars. The cluster is part of a larger region of star formation, contributing to our understanding of stellar evolution and the dynamics of star clusters in the Milky Way galaxy.
