NGC_2420
NGC_2420 is a bright open cluster located in the constellation Gemini. It is approximately 2,000 light-years away from Earth and contains around 100 stars, with an estimated age of about 1.5 billion years. The cluster is notable for its relatively high concentration of stars, making it an interesting target for amateur astronomers.
Discovered by William Herschel in 1786, NGC 2420 is best observed through telescopes. Its stars are primarily composed of hydrogen and helium, typical of many open clusters. The cluster's position in the sky makes it visible during the winter months in the Northern Hemisphere.
