NGC_1882
NGC 1882 is a planetary nebula located in the constellation Lepus. It was discovered by the astronomer William Herschel in 1786 and is approximately 3,000 light-years away from Earth. The nebula is notable for its relatively large size and bright central star, which is a remnant of a dying star that has shed its outer layers.
The nebula exhibits a round shape and displays a variety of colors due to the ionization of gases. Its central star, known as a white dwarf, emits ultraviolet radiation that ionizes the surrounding gas, creating the glowing appearance characteristic of planetary nebulae.
