NGC 1052 is a lenticular galaxy located approximately 60 million light-years away in the constellation Cetus. It is classified as an S0 galaxy, which means it has a smooth, featureless appearance and lacks the prominent spiral arms found in spiral galaxies.
The galaxy is notable for its active nucleus, which contains a supermassive black hole. NGC 1052 is also part of a group of galaxies known as the NGC 1052 group, which includes several other galaxies that are gravitationally bound to each other.
