NGC 7293
NGC 7293, also known as the Helix Nebula, is a planetary nebula located in the constellation Aquarius. It is approximately 700 light-years away from Earth and is one of the closest nebulae to our planet. The nebula is notable for its bright, ring-like structure and is often referred to as a "cosmic eye" due to its appearance.
The Helix Nebula was formed when a dying star expelled its outer layers, creating a glowing shell of gas and dust. This process is part of the natural life cycle of stars similar to our Sun. The nebula spans about 2.5 light-years across and is rich in various elements, including hydrogen and helium.
