NGC 6799
NGC 6799 is a planetary nebula located in the constellation Aquila. It is approximately 2,000 light-years away from Earth and is known for its striking appearance, which resembles a glowing shell surrounding a dying star.
The nebula was discovered by astronomer William Herschel in 1784. It is characterized by its bright central star, which is shedding its outer layers, creating the colorful gas and dust that make up the nebula. NGC 6799 is part of a larger group of celestial objects known as planetary nebulae, which are formed during the late stages of stellar evolution.
