NGC 677
NGC 677 is a bright open star cluster located in the constellation of Cetus. It was discovered by the astronomer John Herschel in 1834. This cluster is approximately 2,000 light-years away from Earth and contains several young stars that are still in the process of forming.
The cluster spans about 20 light-years across and is estimated to be around 100 million years old. NGC 677 is notable for its relatively high concentration of stars, making it an interesting target for amateur astronomers and astrophotographers. Its position in the night sky allows for easy observation with small telescopes.
