NGC 6747
NGC 6747 is a barred spiral galaxy located approximately 75 million light-years away in the constellation Pavo. It was discovered by the astronomer John Herschel in 1834 and is notable for its bright core and well-defined spiral arms.
This galaxy is part of a group of galaxies known as the NGC 6744 group. It has an apparent magnitude of about 12.5, making it faintly visible through small telescopes. NGC 6747 is also of interest to astronomers studying galaxy formation and evolution due to its distinct structure.
