NGC 6553
NGC 6553 is a globular cluster located in the constellation Sagittarius. It is approximately 19,000 light-years away from Earth and is known for its dense concentration of stars. This cluster is estimated to contain around 100,000 stars, many of which are older and metal-poor, giving it a distinct reddish hue.
Discovered by William Herschel in 1784, NGC 6553 is one of the more prominent globular clusters in our galaxy, the Milky Way. It has a diameter of about 100 light-years and is part of the Galactic Halo, which contains many other similar clusters.
