NGC 6264
NGC 6264 is a barred spiral galaxy located approximately 80 million light-years away in the constellation Vulpecula. It was discovered by the astronomer John Herschel in 1831 and is part of the Herschel 400 catalog, which includes a collection of notable deep-sky objects.
This galaxy has a diameter of about 100,000 light-years and features a prominent bar structure at its center. NGC 6264 is classified as a type SBbc galaxy, indicating its spiral arms are moderately wound and it has a significant amount of star formation activity.
