NGC 6047
NGC 6047 is a barred spiral galaxy located approximately 80 million light-years away in the constellation Hydra. It is part of the Virgo Supercluster and is notable for its bright core and well-defined spiral arms, which are characteristic features of spiral galaxies.
Discovered by the astronomer William Herschel in 1785, NGC 6047 is classified as a type SBc galaxy. Its structure includes a central bar of stars, which influences the motion of gas and stars within the galaxy, contributing to its dynamic and evolving nature.
