NGC 5236
NGC 5236, also known as the Southern Pinwheel Galaxy, is a spiral galaxy located about 15 million light-years away in the constellation Hydra. It is classified as a type Sc spiral galaxy and is notable for its bright, well-defined spiral arms and a prominent central bulge.
This galaxy is part of the Virgo Supercluster and is one of the closest spiral galaxies to Earth. NGC 5236 is also known for its active star formation, which is evident in the numerous young, blue stars scattered throughout its structure.
