NGC 4820
NGC 4820 is a barred spiral galaxy located in the constellation Virgo. It is approximately 60 million light-years away from Earth and is part of the Virgo Cluster, a group of galaxies that are gravitationally bound together.
Discovered by the astronomer William Herschel in 1786, NGC 4820 has a diameter of about 50,000 light-years. Its structure features a central bar of stars, which is characteristic of barred spiral galaxies, and it exhibits regions of active star formation, contributing to its bright appearance in the night sky.
