NGC 4616
NGC 4616 is a barred spiral galaxy located approximately 60 million light-years away in the constellation Virgo. It is notable for its bright central bar structure and a prominent ring of star formation surrounding it, which gives it a distinct appearance among other galaxies.
Discovered by William Herschel in 1784, NGC 4616 is classified as a type SBc galaxy. It has a diameter of about 70,000 light-years and is part of the Virgo Cluster, a group of galaxies that includes many other interesting celestial objects.
