NGC 4607
NGC 4607 is a barred spiral galaxy located in the constellation Virgo. It is approximately 60 million light-years away from Earth and is part of the Virgo Cluster, a group of galaxies that are gravitationally bound together.
Discovered by the astronomer William Herschel in 1784, NGC 4607 has a diameter of about 50,000 light-years. Its structure features a central bar-shaped region of stars, which is characteristic of barred spiral galaxies. Observations of NGC 4607 contribute to our understanding of galaxy formation and evolution in the universe.
