NGC 4559
NGC 4559 is a spiral galaxy located approximately 24 million light-years away in the constellation Virgo. It is part of the Virgo Cluster and is classified as a type Sc galaxy, characterized by its well-defined spiral arms and a bright central bulge.
Discovered by William Herschel in 1784, NGC 4559 has a diameter of about 50,000 light-years. It contains a significant amount of star formation activity, with numerous young, hot stars visible in its spiral arms. The galaxy is also notable for its rich population of globular clusters.
