NGC 417
NGC 417 is a bright open star cluster located in the constellation of Cassiopeia. It was discovered by the astronomer William Herschel in 1787. This cluster is approximately 6,000 light-years away from Earth and contains several young stars that are still in the process of forming.
The cluster spans about 20 light-years across and is estimated to be around 100 million years old. NGC 417 is notable for its relatively high concentration of stars, making it an interesting target for amateur astronomers and astrophotographers. Its position in the sky makes it easily observable with small telescopes.
