NGC 415
NGC 415 is a barred spiral galaxy located in the constellation Cetus. It is approximately 60 million light-years away from Earth and is part of the Hubble Space Telescope catalog. The galaxy has a bright central bar structure, which is characteristic of barred spiral galaxies, and features several spiral arms that extend outward.
Discovered by the astronomer John Herschel in 1834, NGC 415 is classified as type SBc, indicating its spiral structure with a prominent bar. Observations of this galaxy contribute to our understanding of galaxy formation and evolution, particularly in the context of how bars influence star formation within galaxies.
