NGC 2541
NGC 2541 is a barred spiral galaxy located approximately 50 million light-years away in the constellation Leo. It was discovered by the astronomer William Herschel in 1784 and is classified as a type SBc galaxy, indicating its prominent bar structure and loosely wound spiral arms.
The galaxy spans about 70,000 light-years in diameter and contains a mix of young and old stars, along with regions of active star formation. NGC 2541 is part of the Virgo Supercluster, which includes many other galaxies, and is often studied for its interesting features and dynamics.
