NGC 2404
NGC 2404 is a barred spiral galaxy located in the constellation Lynx. It is approximately 10 million light-years away from Earth and is part of the Lynx constellation group of galaxies. NGC 2404 has a diameter of about 50,000 light-years and is characterized by its bright central bar structure and spiral arms.
Discovered by astronomer William Herschel in 1788, NGC 2404 is notable for its relatively high surface brightness, making it easier to observe with amateur telescopes. The galaxy is also of interest to astronomers studying the formation and evolution of spiral galaxies in the universe.
