NGC 2319
NGC 2319 is an open star cluster located in the constellation of Monoceros, which is also known as the Unicorn. It was discovered by the astronomer William Herschel in 1784. The cluster is approximately 3,600 light-years away from Earth and contains several young stars that are still in the process of formation.
The cluster spans about 20 light-years across and is estimated to be around 10 million years old. NGC 2319 is notable for its relatively high concentration of stars, making it an interesting target for amateur astronomers and astrophotographers. Its bright stars are easily visible through small telescopes.
