NGC 2207
NGC 2207 is a spiral galaxy located approximately 75 million light-years away in the constellation Canis Major. It is part of a pair of interacting galaxies, with its companion being IC 2163. This interaction causes distortions in their shapes and can trigger new star formation.
The galaxy has a diameter of about 70,000 light-years and is classified as a barred spiral galaxy. Observations of NGC 2207 reveal bright regions of star formation, as well as a central bar structure that is characteristic of its type. The interaction with IC 2163 contributes to its dynamic and evolving nature.
