NGC 2115
NGC 2115 is a barred spiral galaxy located in the constellation Lynx. It is approximately 70 million light-years away from Earth and has an apparent magnitude of around 12.5, making it a faint object that requires a telescope to observe.
Discovered by the astronomer William Herschel in 1788, NGC 2115 is part of a group of galaxies known as the Lynx Group. Its structure features a central bar and spiral arms, typical of barred spiral galaxies, which contribute to its unique appearance in the night sky.
