NGC 205
NGC 205, also known as M110, is a dwarf elliptical galaxy located approximately 2.9 million light-years from Earth. It is a satellite galaxy of the Andromeda Galaxy (M31) and is part of the Local Group of galaxies. NGC 205 has an apparent magnitude of about 10.1, making it visible through small telescopes.
Discovered by William Herschel in 1783, NGC 205 is characterized by its smooth, featureless appearance and contains a population of older stars. It lacks significant amounts of gas and dust, which limits new star formation. The galaxy is an important object for studying the dynamics and evolution of satellite galaxies.
