NGC 2004
NGC 2004 is a bright open star cluster located in the Large Magellanic Cloud, a satellite galaxy of the Milky Way. It is situated approximately 163,000 light-years from Earth and contains several young, massive stars. The cluster is notable for its high concentration of blue supergiants, which are among the hottest and most luminous stars in the universe.
Discovered by John Herschel in 1834, NGC 2004 is often studied for its stellar evolution and the dynamics of star formation. The cluster is also a popular target for amateur astronomers due to its brightness and distinctive appearance in the night sky.
