NGC 1911
NGC 1911 is a bright open star cluster located in the constellation of Columba. It was discovered by the astronomer John Herschel in 1834 and is approximately 5,000 light-years away from Earth. The cluster contains several young, hot stars that are still in the process of forming.
This star cluster is notable for its relatively high concentration of stars, which are bound together by their mutual gravitational attraction. NGC 1911 is often studied by astronomers to understand the formation and evolution of star clusters in our galaxy, the Milky Way.
