NGC 158
NGC 158 is a bright open star cluster located in the constellation of Cassiopeia. It is approximately 1,200 light-years away from Earth and contains several young stars that are still in the process of forming. The cluster is estimated to be around 100 million years old, making it relatively young in astronomical terms.
Discovered by William Herschel in 1787, NGC 158 is notable for its rich concentration of stars and its relatively high luminosity. Observations of this cluster help astronomers understand the formation and evolution of star clusters in our galaxy, the Milky Way.
