NGC 1400
NGC 1400 is a lenticular galaxy located in the constellation Eridanus. It is approximately 70 million light-years away from Earth and is part of a group of galaxies known as the NGC 1400 group. This galaxy has a bright core and a smooth, featureless appearance, typical of lenticular galaxies.
Discovered by the astronomer John Herschel in 1834, NGC 1400 has an apparent magnitude of about 12.5, making it faintly visible through small telescopes. Its structure consists of a central bulge surrounded by a disk of stars, with little to no ongoing star formation, which is characteristic of its type.
