NGC 1388
NGC 1388 is a barred spiral galaxy located in the constellation Fornax. It is approximately 65 million light-years away from Earth and is part of the Fornax Cluster, a group of galaxies that are gravitationally bound together.
Discovered by the astronomer John Herschel in 1836, NGC 1388 has a visual magnitude of about 12.5, making it faintly visible through small telescopes. Its structure features a prominent bar of stars and a well-defined spiral pattern, typical of barred spiral galaxies.
