NGC 1301
NGC 1301 is a barred spiral galaxy located approximately 61 million light-years away in the constellation Eridanus. It was discovered by the astronomer John Herschel in 1834 and is part of the Lyon-Meudon Extragalactic Database.
This galaxy features a prominent central bar structure and exhibits a well-defined spiral arm pattern. NGC 1301 is notable for its bright core and is classified as a type SBbc galaxy, indicating its intermediate characteristics between spiral and barred spiral galaxies.
