NGC 1087
NGC 1087 is a barred spiral galaxy located approximately 80 million light-years away in the constellation Eridanus. It was discovered by the astronomer John Herschel in 1834 and is part of the Hubble Sequence of galaxy classifications.
This galaxy has a diameter of about 50,000 light-years and features a prominent central bar structure, which is characteristic of barred spiral galaxies. NGC 1087 is also known for its relatively low surface brightness, making it less visible compared to other galaxies.
